I did this poster because it shows my group. Barbara and I decided that we should include Professor Bond in the ad because he has instigated this “Agency”. I picture him as kind of a “Charlie” figure like they used in “Charlies Angels”. I hope he doesn’t mind heading up our group Noir Illusions Agency.
This was a 3 star design assignment. In this assignment I decided to have my 1940’s character send a valentines day card to another character from the “Noir We There Yet?” radio show. I found a picture on Google images that I liked, then I put it on PowerPoint and wrote on it. I changed the words to the common “Roses are Red” poem and just had fun with it. I don’t really know if there are blue fedoras, but it worked in the card. Here is my assignment.
Here is a 3 point design Assignment. I created an invoice for my character (Isabelle McIntosh’s) detective agency. I billed Noir We There Yet? Radio for the interview I did with George Bozo. I gave it a very low invoice number because I am not very proficient at interviewing yet. Here is my invoice.
I had a hard time converting a word document to something I could put on Flickr. I tried turning it into other kinds of documents, but nothing seemed to work. I googled it and found the correct directions. I created the invoice in Microsoft Word and used the Snipping tool to turn the document into a JPG, then I posted it on Flickr.
The designblitz was a fun project. I never realized how much design was out there. I have my 4 examples of design, I probably could have come up with more but time ran out on me.
The first one I will do is color. I pass this sign often the the color is very eye catching and appropriate. They changed it to Pink in October (breast cancer awareness month) and they have left it that way. It always catches my eye.
The next design concept I selected was metaphors/symbols. I just discovered this one the other day and I thought it was clever. I never noticed the arrow in the logo before. I think it is a very clever symbol.
Next I looked in my mail and found this one. I think it is perfect for the form/function/message. It is very simple but it gets the point across. It portrays family, patriotism and has a simple message.
I wanted to get some architecture in this so I took a picture of my stairs. I think that they are the very example of minimalism & use of space. This is a very effective use of space and is wonderful for us.
This is a 3 star assignment in which I had to redesign a book cover. I picked this book because it was my characters favorite book. Isabelle McIntosh loves mysteries. I made it the 65th Anniversary Edition because it was written in 1948. I stuck with black and white because I think that that adds to the book cover. It goes with the era it was originally printed in.
This assignment is worth 3 stars. I had to do one for my character so I did Grape Nehi, it is Isabelle McIntosh’s favorite drink. I chose Betty Boop to advertise it because she seemed like a popular character at that time. I used PowerPoint to create this, I had fun doing it. Here is my advertisement.
